„How does one adequately express their appreciation to someone who has given them the gift of sight? The ability to see and understand things as they never had before.
I am referring to someone in the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu world who is known by a single name … „Rickson.”

„Before Rickson Gracie I studied Jiu Jitsu, after Rickson Gracie I understood Jiu Jitsu.”

Without understanding Jiu Jitsu I would not be who I am today, and knowing this overwhelms me with love and admiration for him, for the wonderful gift he has given me.

No matter where or when, Rickson was always there for me. The 5:00 am lessons, the 15 minute instructions in-between his many private classes – a thinker before a fighter, my mentor had gone above and beyond. I can only hope to aspire to half the level of his influence. To ignite the passion within others as he did with me. To make a difference to others as he has for me.

It is my honor and privilege to be able to help preserve the memory and spirit of his teachings, his philosophy and his humor where ever I may go.

Rock’n roll will always have Elvis, basketball will always have Michael Jordan and Jiu Jitsu will always have Rickson Gracie.

Honestly I don’t feel I could ever fully explain the deep rooted emotion of appreciation I have for this man, so I’ll say it simply.

Thank you, Rickson. Thank you for taking me beyond the technique. Thank you for providing me the guidance. Thank you for your constant unselfish dedication to show me an art that transcended to the practicalities of life itself. Thank you, Rickson. Thank you for giving me that life.”

Cel mai tare roman in MMA-ul din SUA se intoarce! Nu rata stagiul cu Leo Francu!

Leo Francu este cel mai cunoscut roman in sporturile de contact din SUA. Detine propria lui sala in Los Angeles si este antrenorul personal al unor sportivi precum: Manny Gamburyan (luptator de MMA in WEC), Romulo Barral (de 6 ori Campion Mondial de BJJ), Mickaela Meyers (de 2 ori campioana nationala a SUA in box) si multi altii!

Leo a fost campion mondial de lupte in ’94, de 2 ori campion european, de 3 ori campion al Statului California, a pregatit echipa olimpica a SUA si antreneaza luptatori pro de MMA din SUA, pe partea de lupte si strength & conditioning.

In luna august a anului trecut Leo a sustinut un stagiu gratuit pentru Absoluto, iar acum la intoarcerea in tara, pentru o scurta perioada de timp, si-a aratat generozitatea oferind un nou stagiu gratuit iubitorilor de sporturi de contact sau conditionare fizica.

Ashton Kutcher s-a apucat de BJJ… in Rio!

Starul de la Hollywood Ahston Kutcher a inceput sa se antreneze in BJJ. Aflat in Rio, iubitul lui Demi Moore, s-a pregatit la sala lui Ricardo De La Riva unde i-a impresionat pe toti cei prezenti prin modestia sa. Chiar daca in fotografie, alaturi de De La Riva, Ashton are centura neagra, aceasta era doar de imprumut:

Join us at the seaside for the 5th anniversary of the BJJ Summer Camp!

This year Absoluto BJJ and his supervisor Eddie Kone (Royler Gracie black belt) are celebrating 5 years of partnership and also the 5th anniversary of the BJJ Summer Camp in Romania. Started in 2006, the camp is a moment of regrouping Professor Eddie Kone, head of the EK BJJ organisation that Absoluto is part of, and his Romanian part of the „family”. Meanwhile, the camp is a great opportunity to push the training for the upcoming competitions such as the „BJJ Romanian Cup” or „Hungarian Open”.

Just like the previous years the camp will be held in Mamaia at the Lido Hotel, right on the beach, between the 1st and 4th of September. There are 2 training sessions scheduled per day: 10.00 – conditioning on the beach and 18.00 – BJJ. Training sessions to be held by Eddie Kone. Limited number of attendants!

Vino cu noi la mare sa aniversam 5 ani de BJJ Summer Camp!

Anul acesta Absoluto BJJ si supervizorul sau Eddie Kone (centura neagra sub Royler Gracie) sarbatoresc 5 ani de colaborare si totodata a 5-a editie a stagiului de vara: BJJ Summer Camp. Inceput in 2006, stagiul este un moment de reintalnire cu Eddie Kone, seful organizatiei EK BJJ, care grupeaza si clubul Absoluto, dar si de pregatire pentru competitiile toamnei precum Cupa Romaniei la BJJ sau Open-ul Ungariei.

Ca si in anii trecuti, stagiul se va desfasura in Mamaia, la Hotel Lido.  Perioada: 1-4 septembrie. Vor fi doua antrenamente pe zi: 10.00 – conditionare fizica pe plaja; 18.00 – BJJ. Antrenamentele vor fi sustinute de Eddie Kone. Numarul de locuri este LIMITAT!
