The best fight of the tournament might have been the open class quarterfinal battle between Roberto Tussa (right) and Tarsis Humphreys…in which, in the end, Humphreys got the edge by one advantage, after a 6-6 tie on the score cards:

Dupa ce a castigat debutul in MMA prin Submission (armbar), Andre Galvao este pregatit de al doilea meci de MMA din cariera, ce va avea loc in Canada pe 28 noiembrie.


Daca pentru primul meci (vs Jeremiah Metcalf) s-a antrenat alaturi de Wanderlei Silva, Paulo Filho, Xande Ribeiro, Ronaldo JacarĂ© sau FabrĂ­cio “Morango”, acum Galvao a schimbat „sala” si s-a alaturat fratilor Nog, lui Anderson Silva si Rafael “FeijĂŁo” la Minotauro Team.

Intr-un interviu pentru revista TATAME, Galvao a explicat cum a perceput tranzitia de la BJJ la MMA.
“I think Jiu-Jitsu helps you a lot, so if you’re a BJJ black belt and you compete, you’re in advantage on the ring, because you can do the job stand up or on the ground. But you need to like it… A lot of people go from BJJ to MMA and don’t get used to it, and maybe you can put an end to your career with this choice, you need to know if you like to get beaten (laughs)”, told the athlete.
